Giving Single Mothers a Hand Up
Lyn Smith founded HandZ Up Nevada to help single mothers "down on their luck." Our goal is to help them:
- Know they matter and don't have to do life alone
- Have a safe place to get back on their feet
- Gain skills and knowledge for sustainable success
HandZ Up was formally founded in 2017, but Lyn has been working to support single mothers with resources since 2006.
Lyn's passion is to give single mothers and their children a hand up in life. She wants to help bridge the gaps from where they are to where they want to be by equipping them with the confidence to be successful and self-sufficient.
HandZ Up is accomplishing this mission through resources including housing and transportation assistance, ready-to-work job training, money management training, and mental health therapy.
